First Time Camping at Euphoria Music Festival

First Time Camping at Euphoria Music Festival

Estimated Read Time 2 minutes

It’s about to be that time of the year again when one of our favorite local festivals roll around – Euphoria Music Festival! Good vibes, great friends, and a bit of camping advice is all you’re going to need to enjoy this 3 day camping festival (4 days if you include the new Pre-Party release!). Spread across 60 acres of Carson Creek by the Colorado River, outside of Austin, TX, you’ll soon find the areas amassed with tents and happy festival attendees. Below are a few tips so you can get the most out of your first time camping at Euphoria Music Festival! #EMFC

1. Activities

When you’re not raging to some good ole’ music, you can find different activities and events to do. How about stretching out those sore limbs at free yoga sessions held throughout the weekend? Or maybe you fancy a workshop, or even play on the pop up swings and hammocks?

2. Picking out your tent

There are many camping options available, including RV camping; however, most people will go with the “Bring Your Own Tent” campgrounds, for the affordability and the ability to carve out space for you and your friends. When choosing your temporary home for the next few days, make sure you get one that has extra space, more than you need. For example, if you are a solo camper, get a 2 person tent. If you’re going with your bae, pick a 4 person tent. This way it’ll be easier for you to store things and give you some breathing room when you need to catch some zzz’s. If you don’t own a tent, no worries. There are plenty of inexpensive Austin tent rental options available. Also, bring a small lock for your tent (like the ones for your luggage) if you’re weary about security. You can pick it up at any local store!

3. Survive from the heat

It will get pretty hot and heated during the day, so your best bet is to bring something for cover. For example, canopies are perfect because they also provide for a “chilling area”. If your group has multiple canopies, you can set them up next to each other and have all of your gathering areas covered. Tarps and tapestries are also great things to hang from the canopies, for when the sun decides to move around.

4. Stay hydrated

Bring lots of water! There will also be free water stations around the grounds. Each attendee may carry up to two empty bottles into the festival, but make sure they’re empty! It’s also a great idea to bring a hydration pack or camel back of some sort.
